Anchorage is free of extra pilotage and any cost at Turkish straits. All vessel can drop anchor at north and south side of Bosphorus and Dardanelles strait. Only Harbour master permition needed for South side of Bosphorus strait. Master of the ships should be very close contact with Control stations during anchorage operations.

Your vessels could find every kind of service at Istanbul Anchorage area. Provision, bunker supplies, crew change operation, underwater inspections or similar works can be done at anchoarge.

Anchorage is free but for 48 hours. If one vessel stay at anchorage more than 48 hours, her status changing from Transit to Free Pratique. That means is extra costs on light dues and sanitary dues. You can calculate the estimated cost ( USD 0,50 x NRT )

All vessel should ask anchorage permition from Traffic control station by VHF and they should keep close contact with them. Also all vessel at anchorage should ask sailing permition from Traffic Control station, when they are leaving the area.
